Richard has an excellent track record for helping individuals get results. He is confident in motivating people towards achieving their goals and believes that no dream is impossible.

Richard  worked extensively with long term unemployed Dads especially, the over fifties at the employment service.  He introduced  Personal Development Coaching  Programmes.

The clients had breakthrough results. Their self- esteem increased and their mindset changed  some were willing to improve their computer skills and enrol on job training. He organized job fairs for clients who were actively seeking work. Richard has an excellent track record in helping individuals attain their goals.

Building on people’s needs, creativity and helping them to achieve their personal best is one of his many strength’s. He is constantly promoting the benefits of Life Coaching and Personal Development wherever  he goes.

He has a natural empathy with people, highlighted by his humour, positivity and excellent communication skills. Richard is no stranger to failures and empty promises. He calls himself Mr Positive.  He is always looking for solutions to improve his life and the lives of others.

In 2002 Richard did voluntary  work at the Homestead, a shelter for homeless teenagers in Cape Town. He focused on their Self Esteem Issues and Confidence Building  which helped them cope with mainstream schooling.  A father of three adult children and now a grandfather, Richard shows no signs of slowing down.

Richard dropped out of the coaching arena many years ago when he and his family returned to Cape Town. After two years in Cape Town, he and his wife decided to come back to Ireland. He did voluntary work with  Fathers Families and Friends in Galway. The organisation provided a valuable service to Dads

In October 2014 at the age of 67 graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Sociology, Political Science and German at Nuig Galway. He said that it was the best years of his life. His greatest fear was that he would not be accepted by the younger generation.

The younger students had an instant connection with him and gave him help and support when he needed it most. The acceptance and support from the students   boosted his self confidence and raised his self esteem.

Most younger students at University had issues with time management and would hand in essays till the last minute, resulting in low marks or  having to do repeat the essay.

Richard approached the various  lecturers about running  time management coaching sessions for six months. He did a weekly coaching workshop with students who had issues with time management. The coaching  helped them  meet deadlines.

He designed his very own website for Dads who had no idea how to raise children. He was  raising awareness of the difficulties of being a single parent.

He wrote weekly blogs on different areas of family life based on his own personal experiences as a father.

My Values & Beliefs

The Client -Coach Relationship is Unique and Special

Together the coach and client define needs, wants, ambitions and desires in an atmosphere of trust where the client feels free to discuss anything they want. The total focus is on the client. There is no other relationship that consistently offers this level of support.

As coaches, our aim is to honour and support the beliefs, values, individuality, goals and objectives of our clients so that they can grow and expand the areas of their  personal and professional lives.

In doing so we totally respect client’s individual requirements, limitations and personal boundaries. Coaches ‘ valiues are those of integrity, impartiality and respect for the client.

Confidentiality is essential to the coaching relationship. It forms the bond between the client and the coach. This not only respects the client’s privacy but creates the trust necessary for coaching. Any break of confidentilaity will diminish the effectiveness of coaching.

Coaches do not offer coaching beyond their level of training and expertise. Coaches make correct representation of their skills, status, experience and  capabilities at all times.

I spent my time in boardroom meetings, I had amazing ideas to contribute. I was too afraid to stand up and present my creative and  inspirational ideas.

I spoke to Richard about my fears. We worked on a planned course of action. Combined with his coaching skills and using the Success Principles methodology,  I overcame my  fear, I was able to present meetings in a more confident manner. I was really able to shine in those meetings. In fact I was able to take on a huge project without feeling intimidated or afraid.

Richard worked extensively with three boys who were transferred into mainstream schooling.

He focused on their fears on being accepted by other pupils.

He helped them overcome their fears by doing daily exercises on self esteem, building self confidence, visualization techniques.

The boys had a positive mind-shift towards their future, resulting in an improvement on their academic progress.

How to use the Success Principles

If You feeling like You may not be living the life you want, I want you know I get it! I have a simple formula to help You get back on track and experience more of what You want!

Events happen , things like a flat tire,a sick child, a layoff from work. We respond to those events, and our responses lead to the outcomes we experience.

We may not control the events in our lives; we can, however, control how we respond. That is our point of power: How we respond to the events in our lives.

If You are not experiencing the outcomes you want in your life, it is time to look at how you respond and begin to explore new responses.New responses will lead to new outcomes – the type of outcomes that you actually want!

You are creating your experiences, your success, the quality of your relationships, and your health, basically everything you are experiencing, you created!

There are only three responses

You have control over:

Your behaviour (including what You say and how You say it; what You do and what You don’t do)

Your thoughts (self – talk) and beliefs ( both conscious and unconscious)

Your visual imagery (including your images of the past (memories) and the future

Practice the Success Principles

Trust me, if you act as if you are 100% responsible, whether its true or not; if you act as if it were true, your experience of life and the results you produce will get better.

Therefore, without self- judgement or self blame, you can focus your attention on understanding yourself and your range of choices that may be possible in any given circumstance.

With this awareness, you can make educated, intentional choices.

When your choices don’t result in you getting what you want, you can look to understand what happened and what action you can take next, rather than looking for someone or some circumstance to blame.

Now! I’m going to share with you that simple formula that changed my life, and I know it will change yours.

E+R=O Event + Response = Outcome

If you want to change the outcomes you are experiencing in your life, you must change your responses.
